Workshop on Leadership Training for Women

 

 

 

Delhi Commission for Women in the Women Empowerment Year, 2001 organized a 3-day workshop from 18th-20th August, 2001 at the Delhi Secretariat, New Delhi.  The workshop sought to enhance the political capacities and competency of aspiring political leaders among women.  The workshop was a unique experiment to impart political skills and knowledge to women involved in politics and occupying legislative role in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.

 

The workshop was attended by women from different fields, especially political aspirants, women who fought successful elections, party office bearers, social service activists, officials from Election Commission of India and other legal luminaries and well-known personalities in their own field. 

 

The Commission made the workshop very meaningful by inviting a number of speakers consisting of eminent political leaders, representatives of Election Commission of India, Civil servants, Police Commissioner, Media personalities/Journalists and academicians to address the participants on various political themes.
